Nurturing Your Soulmate, Living and Loving Through Virtues

by Mark Douglas June 06, 2018

Whether we meet on a blind date or over the backyard fence, love happens all around us. Finding a life-partner to build a future with is a possibility for each of us. But building a joyful, committed relationship with a soulmate requires a deep understanding of the many virtues that nurture and strengthen a couple's love for one another throughout the years.

Love With All of Your Heart

Every single day brings with it an opportunity to express love. Embrace this opportunity by demonstrating love freely. Show that you care by helping each other with day to day tasks. Demonstrate gratitude for the smallest of gestures and show affection by simply being kind. A day that goes by without at least one "I love you" is a missed opportunity. Take advantage of every second and love all day long with all of your heart.

Embrace Imperfections

As grounded as true soulmates may be, differences and imperfections will be a part of daily life. Each partner's unique spin on the world is cause for celebration. Don't try to change each other, embrace differences by practicing acceptance. Work through your disagreements by using patience, understanding and calmness. A soft answer turns away wrath; this ideal truly works.

Find Grace

Anyone who has been in a relationship knows that right after "I love you", "I'm sorry" is probably the most frequently spoken phrase. Grace comes to us through forgiveness, patience, and mutual respect. "Grace in a marriage means that we learn to love the highs…which is easy…and the lows…which is hard…and the mundane…which is sometimes…for some people…the hardest of all." Virtues are the universal truths in successful relationships. Embrace your universal truth as soulmates and celebrate the joy you receive as your relationship continues to soar.

Above I've sprinkled in a few Christan C. George photos from the fabulous wedding of Mr and Mrs Andrew and Kaleigh Branham's Wedding on October 14, 2017 at Howe Farms. Kaleigh sat down for an in-depth interview with me where we discussed their love and connecting virtues. Drum Roll Please! ;)

This week's corresponding Video Bonus just went LIVE!: #14 Finding My Soulmate, The Kaleigh and Andrew Story | 'Puttin On The Ritz w/ DJ Mark!'

Video Dialogue:

Mark: Today we are blessed to discover the love between two soul mates, Kaleigh and Andrew. And presenting, the superb photo talents of Christan C. George Photography. Cheron and I are privileged to know this young lady, Mrs Kaleigh Branham as she's blessed us with her formal wear purchases right here at All Dressed Up. Welcome Kaleigh! Kaleigh: I'm so glad to be here. Mark: Kaleigh, October 14, 2017 you and Andrew tied the knot. I'm excited to get into all those awesome details, including highlighting and rating your Wedding vendors, but first, let's start with your story, tell us how you two met. Kaleigh: So Andrew and I are actually high school sweethearts, we met through a mutual friend. We met a Hixson High School, so this year we'll be together 8 years. Mark: Tell us about the proposal, and where you surprised? Kaleigh: The proposal actually took place at my mamaw's house. My brother who is in the Air Force came down, I really wanted him to be a part of it. So, his family, my sister in law, my niece and nephew all came down and we had Christmas in February because my brother is stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and that's a far ways out. So they came in to my mamaw's house and everyone sat down. It was after we opened up all of our pictures. And he was like, 'I have one more thing for you.' I was, 'Okay.' So he walked down and came back up. He actually made a photo album with our very first pictures all the way up to our current ones that we had. And at the very end he wrote me a cute little note. And so it was a little photo album. I kind of expected it afterwards because I actually walked in on him making the photo album the night before so... Buy yeah, it was perfect. It was awesome. Mark: Great, well let me ask about your relationship virtues. Clearly there's a lot of history there. Beyond instant chemistry, beyond looks, beyond the superficial, what are Andrew's top 3 virtues that helped you know for certain Andrew would be your significant other? Kaleigh: Humility. He's extremely humble. He's the hardest working person I've ever met in my life and takes no credit for it, and he's just amazing. He's encouraged me so much. He's my best friend. He's my cheerleader through everything. And his humor, oh my gosh. It's probably cliché to say but he's hands down probably the funniest person I've met in my life. Mark: Alright, we're gonna have to have him on the show, clearly. And, what are your top three virtues? Kaleigh: I would say encouragement as well. I'm pretty optimistic. I would like to say I'm funny as well so humor. I think we're compatible in that way. And just, accountability. I keep us together and make sure we're on the right path. At least I think that we are. So, I would say those would be my top three. Mark: Awesome, I'm actually gonna put a link to these 30 virtues in our corresponding blog. Please be on the lookout for that. Now, Let's talk marriage bliss: Now that you're married what types of plans are you making for the near future, say 5, 10, 15 years down the road? Kaleigh: 5 to about 10 years honestly, waiting for the children. We're not in a rush for that. Mark: Alright mom and dad wanna know, how many kids are we talking here? Kaleigh: Andrew wants four, I say zero to two. Mark: Zero to Two! Kaleigh, thank you for sharing your Finding My Soulmate story! We're now ready to talk about your actual Wedding Day! The planning, the vendors, the details, and your overall assessments. She's had a chance to work that wedding gown, enjoy that venue's amenities, eat that caterer's food, dance to that DJ's music, see if the cake is as sweet as they promised, smell those fragrant flowers, view those beautiful pictures, and test the coordinator's will to live... We'll get Kaleigh's real feedback on exactly how her vendors said it would go down, compared to how it actually went down. I'll ask if there was anything she'd do differently what would it be? So join us next time as for My Wedding Day, The Kaleigh & Andrew Story Kaleigh: Ladies, ADU is interested in your Love story! Would you like to be featured in one of our blogs or episodes? The Bridesmaid Dress - What You Must Know

by Mark Douglas August 01, 2018

Bridesmaids dresses are color coordinated, sometimes look similar to the bride's gown, and are always about style and current trends. The modern bride has a modern bridal party, and the dresses play a key part. Some brides choose for their girls to wear the same color, but perhaps select a variety of styles. However, the most recent trend among wedding parties is to have bridesmaids dressed in a completely mismatched fashion.

The Importance of Dress Availability and Special Orders

by Mark Douglas May 23, 2018

These characteristics can only be fulfilled by a boutique that has an inventory that is well-thought-out and manufacturers that are experienced in supplying special orders. Sounds easy, right? But, having what a bride needs in the correct color, the right size, and the latest trending style is not a piece of cake (pun intended)... we suggest that you utilize a pre-wedding timeline so that you'll have the option to "special order" your perfect gown.
